I've thought a lot about how much detail I want to include here. Part of the beauty of the old web is that who we were never really mattered, and I'd like to preserve that here. However...some details are neccessary so that we can get to know each other a bit. In the end, I think that's what this whole small web thing is all about.

As you'll eventually see on my gratitudes page, who I am and the way that my life turned out was in many ways shaped by people on the early web who I looked up to, but who probably didn't even know I existed.

And, to be clear, I don't consider that to be a bad thing! I learned so much back then that I probably couldn't have been exposed to in any other way...

Still, one always hopes for more. Web communities and online friendships can be beautiful things, and wanting to be a more active participant is big part of the reason that I'm creating this site.
